The lack of standard subtitles, sign language translations and tailored content are among the factors that have deprived a significant part of the Deaf community of full cinema experience. Now one of the companies in the soft technologies and Cultural Industries Park has solved this challenge by producing the “Lindofilm platform”.

The CEO of the East Earth Artists Institute said: “the institute has been established in three areas of production, education and cultural development, especially in the field of accessibility of products and cultural and artistic places for people with disabilities, especially the deaf, in 2019 with the collective cooperation of artists in the field of cinema, theater and music”. He added: “in line with these goals, we have succeeded in founding the country’s first and largest accessible home screening platform called Lindo film; the platform received its license from Satra two years ago and now operates with more than 10,000 titles of films and series adapted for the deaf”. He continued: “Now, with the expansion of the activities of the series, in the form of an agreement with organizations including the Sura cinema organization and the art field, it has been possible to make some cinemas in the country accessible to the deaf”. Azadi and Bahman cinemas in Tehran, Sahel in Isfahan, Mehr kohsangi in Mashhad and migration in Karaj are among the centers that host the screening of Iranian cinema Day Films for the deaf. Referring to the need to do this, Khabir said that about 15 percent of the country’s population is people with disabilities, and according to the World Health Organization and the Ministry of health of Iran, three to five million deaf and hard of hearing people live in the country. Given that there was not enough content available to the group in the field of film and series before, it seemed necessary to launch a specialized platform in this field; fortunately, this platform has now been met with widespread reception from the Deaf community. The CEO of the East Earth Artists Institute noted that in addition to the Lindo film platform, the institute is also active in the fields of cinema education in the free cinema school, book publishing, advertising in the advertising center and holding national and International Film Festivals. Referring to the 18th edition of the Jalal al-Ahmad literary award, he said: “the first book published by the publications of this institution entitled’ I am Ibn Battuta ‘ by Khosrow Abbasi khudlan, has been nominated for the short story collection of the book of the year. The author has previously been nominated for the book” The Stone of John ” and also has the title of winner of the Student Book of the Year award in his CV. He went on to mention the role of artificial intelligence in the development of the activities of the series, saying that last year, about seven titles of films and series were available on the platform, but this year, by using artificial intelligence as a key tool and infrastructure, we have had about 50 percent growth in the production and supply of products. This technology helps us to make the production process cheaper, faster, more inclusive and more accurate.

Despite the growing cinema industry and online viewing platforms, the deaf continue to face serious challenges in accessing film and … ادامه مطلب

[16
635
post-6814","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-iccip
["GET
