Dr. Mahdieh Shahrabi Farahani had a speech at the 2ND International Mourning of the Arbaeen Heritage of Husseini, about Tourism and Spirituality.
In this speech, Shahrabi Farahani emphasized the Arbaeen event as one of the largest human gatherings in the world and said: The Arbaeen event is a manifestation of spirituality in the world, an event that can be analyzed from all social, cultural, political, religious and historical aspects, and every year new aspects and innovations of this religious ritual are added.
He said: Attending the Arbaeen walk is an opportunity for humans to connect with their spiritual nature, the nature that is the essence of humans, the non-material dimension of the soul, mind and spirit that humans use every activity to recognize and satisfy. Undoubtedly, one of the most important of these activities is travel. Travel is shaped by movement and communication, and all of these are key axes of spirituality.
The Director of International Affairs of the Cultural Industries Park referred to spirituality not as a luxurious and extravagant concept, but rather as a basic human nature and need, and added: Humans seek it throughout their lives, especially through travel. Spirituality is a need of every human being. Human spiritual needs range from the need for mental rest and concentration to connecting with the Creator of existence and connecting with nature. All of them are spiritual needs. Undoubtedly, the super event of Arbaeen Hosseini is an example and manifestation of the emergence of spirituality for all humans who, especially in the era of human life, have found more space for spiritual and non-material themes.
Shahrabi Farahani continued: In recent years, spiritually motivated trips have been increasing in the world. Man in the era of materialism, who is immersed in industry and modernity, has found more distance from the spirit and the main meaning of himself and life, and as if he has a greater need for travel, so that he can meet this need through travel and movement.
He clarified: In the Arbaeen walk, all abstract spiritual concepts are revealed and emerged. From the sense of empathy and connection with other humans to connection and proximity to God, to social integration, and understanding cultures, all are manifestations of spirituality in today’s era, which is indebted to tourism.
