Business Etiquette Workshop: A Wordless Skills-Learning Experience for the Deaf

A “Business Etiquette” training workshop was held with a new approach for deaf and hard of hearing people; a training program that, with the presence of a sign language interpreter, provided an equal and inclusive space for learning professional skills in business interactions. The workshop was held with the support of the National Park of Soft Sciences, Technologies and Cultural Industries.

The two-day workshop, organized by the Oriental Artists Cultural and Artistic Institute, with the support of the National Park of Soft Sciences and Technologies and Cultural Industries, and in partnership with the Mohash Institute, Lindo Film, and Incal, was designed to provide accessibility and effective training for all participants.

At the beginning of the workshop, the instructor emphasized the importance of professional etiquette in business success, saying: “Etiquette not only helps improve professional relationships, but can also act as a competitive advantage in the business field.”

Referring to the role of first impressions in business interactions, he added: “Professional etiquette not only shows respect for others, but can also increase professional trust and credibility.”

He highlighted the role of behavioral details in career paths with examples from real experiences.

Many deaf and hard of hearing participants called for the continuation and expansion of such courses; courses that, in addition to enhancing professional capabilities, also improve individuals’ social status in work and cultural environments.
